The Isigny PDO terroir<\/span><\/strong> extends across an area from the west of\u00a0<\/span>Cotentin to the edges of the C\u00f4te de Nacre and the banks of the\u00a0<\/span>River Vire. The Normandy countryside\u2019s fertile soils explain <\/span>the\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>lush grass<\/span><\/strong> found there. They are involved from the start,\u00a0in order to produce high quality milk from\u00a0the Isigny terroir<\/strong>. This milk has unique\u00a0properties that have been appreciated for\u00a0decades, making this milk a cornerstone of\u00a0Isigny PDO Butter and Cream\u00a0Farmers guarantee the production of a rich\u00a0milk<\/strong> that is particularly suited to making\u00a0dairy products<\/strong> by enabling their cows to\u00a0graze in pastures<\/strong> as soon as the weather\u00a0permits and giving them a sufficiently large\u00a0grazing area.\u00a0Working in mostly family-owned farms,\u00a0these men and women are committed to\u00a0scrupulously adhering to the Isigny PDO\u00a0Butter and Cream<\/strong> specifications, which\u00a0include a requirement to put cows out to\u00a0pasture as soon as the weather permits and\u00a0to give them a sufficiently large grazing\u00a0area.<\/p>
